APRS events sound like they may be a little less exciting than many music industry events but in actual fact the APRS Awards are one of these events that we look forward to every year. This year was the best ever and the cast of people on stage collecting or giving awards were the Who’s Who of the recording industry (in the UK anyway): Sir George Martin, Peter Gabriel, Trevor Horn, Robin Millar, Rupert Hine etc etc. Videos from people who couldn’t make it included Bob Clearmountain.

The APRS hold monthly events and becoming a member is very affordable and the benefits seem to be many but being able to network with the people who’s climbed up to the top of the industry is the most worthwhile in our book as the help and inspiration they can give is invaluable. Take a look at the APRS website here.
An interesting article by the Guardian’s Helienne Lindvall who reported the event is here.

I regret I missed the event. I am a member of APRS and I totally recommend to anyone in the recording industry to become a member. Within this organization I had the chance to attend at an event with Ken Scott talking about his life from working at Abbey Road and producing for David Bowie. Excellent.
