CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE ANN MINICIELI VIDEO INTERVIEW

At last. A year after filming our interview with ann Mincieli the edits have been completed! We visited Germano Studios in New York in April to record a number of producer features and we were very lucky to bump in to Ann who very kindly said she’d record a short video too.

Ann is best known for her work with Alicia Keyes and here she talks about her engineering and production work.

Special thanks to everyone at Germano Studios and to Ann!

A while back we visited Nutshed Studios in the Irish midlands and managed to grab a few photos.  Nutshed Studios run by Joe Eagen is a lovely studio and is becoming very popular with British and European artists and producers as the price is good and the vibe is brilliant.  Some of the local pubs that we visited were unlike anything we’ve seen before, it really is one fantastic place to go.

Pictured is the SSL console in the control room.  Photo taken at daybreak to get the right light!

At long last we are delighted to bring a video feature shot at Dean Street Studios.

Dean Street Studios have a long history having been the site of Tony Visconti’s Good Earth Studios where a ton of huge records were made. The studio still retains much of what was so good about the old studio and has built on the excellent sonics and design featuring a brand new SSL Duality console plus more gear than you can shake a stick at: guitars, amps, keyboards and much more!

Studio manager Jazz took time out to record a short video feature – A big thanks to everyone at Dean Street Studios!!!

Dean Street Studios, set in the heart of London’s Soho, has a long history as a recording studio.  Quite some time ago it was owned by legendary record producer Tony Visconti and in those days was named Good Earth Studios.  Today, 5th Feb 2010, the studio celebrated its latest update with a Duality console replacing the AWS 900 with a great party.

We plan to bring a video tour around the studio and interviews with studio owners Jazz (pictured with studio dog) and Ben in the next month.  We love Dean Street Studios, great vibe and more guitar cabs than you can shake a stick at plus a brand new Mellotron!  The studio is awash with funky instruments, some previously owned by George Harrison etc.  Meanwhile, check out our photo gallery of the studio.

Ace engineer and producer Pat Dillett talks on camera at the fab Germano Studios NYC.  Germano has two SSL Duality consoles and Pat works there most of the time which is why we nipped in to ask about his work during a break.

If you need a great studio to record or mix in but are on mid budget – check out Modern World!  It’s a great studio.

They’re in the Cotswolds but not much more than an hour from London.  They have an SSL Duality, two great recording rooms, massive guitar collection, accommodation and loads more – plus a very, very great vibe.  Call to pay them a visit, say you heard about them from us and get a FREE cup of tea :-)

We shot this video over a year ago but it’s about time that we added it!
