A while back we visited Nutshed Studios in the Irish midlands and managed to grab a few photos.  Nutshed Studios run by Joe Eagen is a lovely studio and is becoming very popular with British and European artists and producers as the price is good and the vibe is brilliant.  Some of the local pubs that we visited were unlike anything we’ve seen before, it really is one fantastic place to go.

Pictured is the SSL console in the control room.  Photo taken at daybreak to get the right light!

Greg Penny first featured on RecordProduction.com way back in 2003 in an interview shot at Sphere Studios, London.  We’ve re-crunched the video to a larger size but we also recorded a follow up video with Greg at his studio in California about 18 months ago, that video is here.  This photo was taken at his Flower Studios, California.

We are trying to gradually work our way through the archive of over 220 producer features and re-encode for the broadband age as many of these were originally squeezed for dial up so as we update news of the new versions will be posted here on the blog.

We were lucky enough to be asked to take Chris Porter’s photograph’s for Resolution magazine at the studio complex that he shares with Hugh Padgham (Stanley House Studios) and as usual filmed the interview which is here.  Chris is a very unassuming person and you’d never know that he’s produced an amazing array or fantastic records with George Michael, The Pet Shop Boys, David Bowie etc etc.

Anyway, this is just one of the photos that you can view in the gallery here but also take 20 minutes out to watch his interview with ace reporter Nigel Jopson.

We met with Andy Gill to record his second RecordProduction.com producer interview – Watch the VIDEO feature by clicking here.

Andy’s career started in the late 70′s as guitarist with the Gang of Four. He then moved in to record production and produced the first Red Hot Chilli Peppers album, Michael Hutchance, Killing Joke and many others. Recently Andy has been very busy working with the Young Knives (this album was on the Mercury Awards shortlist) and has been recording with the Gang of Four.

The complete photo set is in this gallery.
