George Shilling visited Danton Supple with the camera crew on a sunny day in August 2011 to find out how he has got on since our last feature with him over five years ago. In that time Danton has gone on to produce some mega massive smash hit albums for artists such as Cold Play and we think that this is proof that being featured here on RecordProduction.com is good for business :-)

It’s not often that we lose a video but a few years ago we shot an interview with legendary record producer and A&R guy David Kershenbaum before running for the plane home. Somehow the tape got lost in the baggage and it was given up for lost until it turned up in the old laptop bag!

record producer David Kershenbaum video interview

David’s produced so many great records, from Tracy Chapman to Duran Duran. He is one of those producers that you will have several of his records in your collection, guaranteed.

We thought that it would be good to try out the new Final Cut Pro X and started to edit. Wow! The new Final Cut is super fast compared to our FCP 7 and it’s a joy to edit with this new editor, so much better and faster.

Anyway, please visit our video page to watch the feature!

Phill Brown, record producer and recording engineer, is one of the unsung heroes of music recording.  Many people in the business know him very well but he’s been too busy to do much self promotion and we are delighted to bring this feature to raise awareness about his career and talent.  Once you cast your eyes down his credit list, Talk Talk, Robert Plant, Dire Straits, Bob Marley, Little Feat, Jimi Hendrix, Joan Armatrading, Robert Palmer, The Coral and many, many, many, more you quickly realise the historical importance of managing to get to interview such a legend.  It also turns out that he’s a really nice guy and has so many stories to tell.

Clint is a highly popular recording engineer and he comes equipped with an extensive range of techniques having spent many years working with innovative producers and artists that have inspired finding new and creative ways to make records sound special. To Quote Clint: “Music is my passion. I love its diversity; no two bands are the same. Whether I’m recording a rock band or a 30-piece orchestra, I get the same buzz. I love the process of making records and guiding bands through that process”.

Clint was recorded in a short video while at Modern World Studios in the UK but he spends a lot of time atYork Street Studios in New Zealand – we hope to feature York Street one day soon.

Clint can be contacted via his Myspace page.
