Jacobs Studios - Now Closed - Archive

Jacobs Studios must feature high on any bands list of studios to visit. It has a great relaxed vibe that permeates through the studios and its grounds making Jacobs a great place to enjoy the recording process and to let creativity take control.

Many famous records have been recorded at Jacobs and some very well known people have started or built up their careers working there, a good example being the legendary Spike Stent.

The studios take advantage of the buildings original old stables with its multitude of levels and corresponding ceiling heights retainaining original features such as cobbled and oak floors, beams and joinery dating back centuries. The original stalls offer excellent acoustic screening and the various floor levels create separation while keeping an open feel.

Outdoor recreational activities include heated 35ft swimming pool, hard tennis court, croquet lawn set within 10 acres of private grounds. Horse riding, saunas and squash can be arranged locally. There is an excellent selection of pubs close to hand and the two studios have their own hi-fi, TV, Video, and games room.

We are pleased to feature an excellent video shot by studio staff of an artist, Reuben, recording and mixing their latest record at Jacobs which gives a great insight in to the studios facilities and atmosphere.
